Staking on Binance
Staking and Earn products can add rewards to crypto you already hold, but the rewards do not neutralize token price changes, lock-up terms, or exchange custody risk. Treat the first position as a product test—not as a shortcut to a target return.
Types of Staking on Binance
1. Flexible Savings
- Withdraw anytime
- Lower APY (1-5%)
- Best for: Short-term or funds you might need
2. Locked Staking
- Lock for 30/60/90/120 days
- Higher APY (3-15%)
- Best for: Long-term holders
3. ETH Staking (BETH/WBETH)
- Stake ETH for ~3-4% APY
- Receive WBETH token (tradeable)
- No minimum
4. Launchpool
- Stake BNB/USDT/other tokens
- Earn new token rewards
- Usually 7-30 day campaigns
Current Estimated APYs
| Asset | Flexible | 30-Day Locked | 90-Day Locked |
|---|---|---|---|
| USDT | ~2% | ~4% | ~5% |
| BTC | ~0.5% | ~1.5% | ~2.5% |
| ETH | ~2% | ~3% | ~4% |
| BNB | ~1% | ~3% | ~5% |
APYs are variable and change frequently. Check the exact product page for current terms, supported regions, and redemption rules.
How to Start Staking
- Go to Earn → Simple Earn
- Search for the asset you want to stake
- Choose Flexible or Locked
- Enter the amount
- Confirm and start earning
A useful $1,000-style check
Before selecting a term, convert the headline APY into an amount you can evaluate. At a hypothetical 3% annual rate, a $1,000 position produces about $30 over a year before tax and before any change in the token’s value. If the asset falls more than that, the yield has not protected the dollar value of the position.
For an asset-denominated view, 1 ETH at a hypothetical 3% annual rate would accrue about 0.03 ETH over a year if the rate did not change. The dollar value of both the original ETH and the reward will still move with the market.
Tips for Managing the First Position
- Start Flexible before accepting a longer lock period
- Check Launchpool regularly for new token farming
- Auto-subscribe to Flexible Savings for idle funds
- Only consider complex products after you can explain the settlement and downside in your own words
Risks
- Locked funds: Can’t access during lock period
- Market risk: The staked asset can lose value
- Variable rates: APYs can decrease
- Smart contract risk: Minimal on Binance, but exists
Before you increase the amount
Check the current rate, lock and early-redemption terms, the token’s role in your portfolio, and how quickly you may need the funds. A higher yield is only useful when it compensates you for a risk you actually want to take.
Before you create an account
A final signup check, before any first trade
Binance must display SmallDrift, RATE20, and the 20% fee discount in its signup flow. If it does not, do not assume the offer will be applied after account creation.
